About Hypnotherapy

HYPNOSIS / ALTERED STATE

  • To relax – to repair – to heal.
  • Relax. Enjoy quiet time, feel the peace that is in the silence.
  • Tune into what your mind is trying to achieve for you.
  • Become aware of your symptoms and ailments – recognise what they are trying to tell you.
  • Know what situation your mind is trying to protect you from experiencing again by recognising the symptom.
  • Experience the healing and the knowledge that allows you to access your inner most capabilities.
  • Feel your emotions change as you remember an old trauma – without distress.

Why keep doing what you are still doing if it continues to make you unhappy or ill

"Not at all as I imagined it to be…………………."

A phrase that is heard very frequently by hypnotherapists.

  • Hypnotherapy, when used skilfully is absorbed almost unnoticed by the client.
  • Hypnosis not what people expect because it is so simplistic.
  • The client does not have to do anything – the therapist does the work – the client just allows it to happen!
  • I am sure you have read pages of information about hypnotherapy, what it is used for etc.
  • No! It definitely is not only used to stop people smoking or to lose weight!
  • Think of the most unusual symptom – that is what hypnotherapy can help!
  • The symptoms that doctors say they can’t understand
  • The symptoms that do not respond to medication
  • The panic attacks that the medical profession find so difficult to treat
  • Behavioural problems that are too embarrassing to talk about.

These are the type of things hypnotherapists work with every hour of the working day – five day’s a week.

Using hypnotherapy to release old behaviour patterns is pleasant and relaxing and exciting. It allows the client to work at their own pace, being aware of everything around them and yet participating in the changes that are happening. Clients communicate throughout – both verbally and (with the experienced therapist) non verbally. The most difficult thing about hypnotherapy is describing it!!

The procedure is explained and therapy only begins when the client is obviously relaxed and ready to begin treatment. The client is aware of everything that is happening all of the time. The client is in control throughout the appointment. The relaxation that is experienced allows the treatment to be successful.

Clients do not have to divulge their deepest darkest secrets to experience change – their skeletons can stay locked in their cupboards. The qualified therapist knows how to create life changes without having to know the content and therefore does not need to delve and probe into their private life.

Clients do know what is going on throughout the appointment, otherwise the therapist would have to make a longer appointment and charge double just so the whole thing can be relayed to the client afterwards.
